5 Pros And Cons
Of Being Flat-Chested: An Objective Look From A Female Perspective

Almost everyone has a list of personal insecurities. For many people, some physical aspect of themselves is the root of their confidence issues.

Some feel their forehead is too wide or narrow. Others think their ears stick out too much. Quite a few people believe their self-esteem would improve if they could lose a few pounds and gain a little muscle tone. Still more feel certain features of their figures need a bit of enhancement.

Many women consider their breasts to be their least flattering features. Because of that, between 300,000 and 400,000 have surgery to correct the situation.

If you’re among the many women currently thinking about Breast Augmentation, it’s important to understand some of the common pros and cons of being flat-chested beforehand.

Exploring Some Of The Disadvantages

Breast size is a major point of insecurity for countless women.

First off, let’s look at a few of the downsides of not having the ample “upper body strength” the media and certain members of the general public seem to feel is so important.

These disadvantages of being flat-chested are among the reasons so many women are considering implants as a possible solution.

  • Some clothing styles just don’t fit right because they’re designed to be fully filled out.
  •  Swimsuit shopping can be frustrating because two-piece sets are basically your only option. Even then, you may have to choose separates because your top and bottom sizes don’t sync up.
  • Thick, hot, uncomfortable push-up bras are the only way to create cleavage for those outfits that require it.
  • Bra styles are more limited; many of the cutest, most exciting styles are reserved for larger bra sizes.
  • Many ladies feel that having small breasts prevents them from measuring up in the eyes of their peers and romantic prospects.

Keep in mind, some of these pitfalls aren’t going to go away after having breast enhancement.

As far as bra and clothing sizes, styles, and options go, there’s usually an equal but opposite reaction when you have larger breasts. At the same time, being full-figured comes with its own set of insecurities and pitfalls.

Looking At A Few Of The Upsides

Now, let’s look at some of the benefits of being flat-chested. As the old saying goes, “Every cloud has a silver lining.” Breast size is no different, and being flat-chested certainly has its fair share of advantages.

  • If you don’t want to wear a bra, you don’t necessarily have to.
  • Since you don’t have to wear a bra, backless and low-cut dresses and blouses aren’t off limits to you.
  • You don’t have to deal with blackheads, pimples, and other skin issues underneath your breasts due to low airflow and sweat.
  • Bras don’t cut into your shoulders and back, and you don’t have to struggle with underwires digging into your skin.
  •  Large breasts are often associated with severe lower back pain, and they can make sleeping on your stomach uncomfortable. You don’t have to struggle with either of those issues if you have smaller breasts.

As you can see, being flat-chested isn’t all bad. It has a number of benefits. Of course, there’s no denying its downsides, either.

Keep both sides of the argument in mind if you’re considering breast enhancement surgery. Understanding both the pros and the cons will go a long way toward helping you decide whether to proceed with implants and what to expect if you do.
