Ghost Pre-Workout Reviews -
Legend Benefits, Ingredients Analysis, Pros & Cons

The right pre-workout supplements become a treasure once you find one that works for you just how you want it.

Extra focus, more energy and motivation to hit the gym, endurance and ultimately no crash at the end of the day is just what you find, right?

That’s what we all want.

Unfortunately, we go through some crummy products in our quest.

Ghost Legend is one of the good ones out there and a cool and top-notch pre-workout, but is it the best for you?

There’s no need to bother too much about that now.

I’ll give you an unbiased and in-depth Ghost Legend pre-workout review to help you decide or choose from a few alternatives if not.

So, let’s get right into it.

About The Makers Of Ghost Legend

The Legend pre-workout is the flagship product of Ghost Lifestyle, a “lifestyle sports nutrition brand.” Contrary to facts, most people think Ghost Legend is owned by the YouTube fitness personality, Chris Guzman.

In reality, though, it is owned by three lively friends, Ryan Hughes, Daniel Laurenco and Paul Haverland. These three guys are so sociable that you know already from surfing their website’s content. This trait also transfers into their customer service and the quality of goods they make – top-notch and funky.

Ghost Lifestyle offers a range of fitness supplements from Whey Protein to our bone of contention here – pre-workout (Legend). Asides that these supplements are top-quality, the product designs are always an eye-pleaser.

Ghost Legend is their flagship product, and it comes in seven different flavors.

With all that said, I’ll get into the Ghost Legend pre-workout review proper.

Ghost Legend - Overview

Ghost Lifestyle does a good job of making the features and claims of Legend look cool on their website.

In their words, “we aren’t the type to make crazy claims or talk nuanced product specifications.”

Ghost Legend Pre-Workout Warheads Sour Black Cherry

Ghost Legend claims to pack 2x more of all the essential ingredients you are looking for in a pre-workout than most of their competitors.

In turn, it gives you a “legendary pump,” with increased energy and focus that keeps you riled up for your workout.

As I said earlier, this is no joke since this pre-workout has no proprietary blend, which allows you to see the dosage of the ingredients to backup their claims.

Also, the Legend PWO has a good taste without any added sugar. Of course, it’s not a tasteless or bitter drink; natural and artificial sweeteners give it a remarkable taste.

Ghost being the funky brand they are, partnered with the candy company, Warheads, to create three (3) of their PWO’s flavors – Sour Black Cherry, Sour Watermelon and Sour Apple.

However, if you are a stim-junkie, Ghost Legend may not be the PWO for you, and you’ll be better looking at other alternatives.

In the next section, I’ll reveal the ingredients and their dosage to see what works and what doesn't.

Ghost Legend Nutrition and Ingredients

One scoop of Ghost Legend PWO contains five (5) calories and 1g of carbohydrates. It also has 39mg of calcium and 67mg of potassium.

The ingredients are split up into two blends, Ghost Legend and Ghost Smart Energy. Ghost Smart Energy typically contains stimulants and other ingredients that make its absorption better and without a crash at the end of your workout session.

It contains 202mg of caffeine, which is a combination of Caffeine Anhydrous (165mg) and Di-Caffeine Malate (50mg).

The Ghost Smart Energy blend also contains Taurine (1g), Theobromine (50mg), Alpha-GC (150mg), Rhodiola Root Extract (50mg), Olive Leaf Extract (50mg), NADH (2.5mg) and Rauwolfia Root Extract (1mg).

Now, the Ghost Legend blend contains less but the most important ingredients in the pre-workout. It consists of L-Citrulline (4g), Beta Alanine (2g), Agmatine Sulfate (500mg), and Norvaline (100mg).

How do these ingredients and their dosages work, you wonder?

I’ll get into all of that in the next section, but first let me give you one pre workout mix which only has 1 ingredient and is caffeine free; the Muscletech Platinum Creatine, in case you're looking for one.

Benefits & Effectiveness

Remember, Ghost Legend has got two blends. I’ll start with Ghost Smart Energy, having the most ingredients.

Ghost Smart Energy Blend

In one scoop, you get about as much caffeine you’d get in two cups of coffee (202mg). While this might seem too small an amount of caffeine for a PWO, it is supplemented with small doses of theobromine and rauwolfia. They both produce stimulant-like effects that boost focus and motivation.

It also contains an effective dosage of taurine, which helps to reduce the crash and jittery effects of caffeine. Plus, it helps ease cramps and muscle tear, aiding hydration where potassium and water intake isn’t enough.

Keep in mind that the caffeine dosage is low and won’t necessarily show any improved energy if you are used to high stim supplements or drinks. If you get hyped from a cup of coffee or are an irregular caffeine taker, then you can expect noticeable gains.

The Rhodiola root extract enhances energy, endurance and focus like caffeine, but is contained in a lower dosage. Despite this, it will still have some effects, since it's combined with caffeine.  Olive leaf extract is said to help regulate blood pressure and aid fat loss its 50mg dosage in the PWO is a far cry from the clinically effective dosage (500-1000mg).

Ghost Legend Blend

Ghost Legend seems to have all its ingredients working hand in hand with each other. In the same way, Alpha GPC and NADH are associated with increased energy output, but despite having low dosages in this product, they have some effects in combination with the other ingredients.

As regards, the Ghost Legend Blend. It contains a generous dosage of L-Citrulline, which is an amino acid that helps to boost nitric oxide and blood circulation during exercise.

Beta-Alanine increases endurance and the stuff that gives you that tingly feeling after using a pre-workout. It is also found in a generous dose of 2g in this product.

Agmatine Sulfate is linked with increased mental awareness, and its dosage in Legend (500mg) is scientifically proven. Lastly, norvaline is an amino acid that can help with recovery and blood circulation but is said to have long term consequences.

The other ingredients section contains natural and artificial flavorings, sweeteners and coloring.

What’s The Taste Like?

One great thing about this product is its taste. As a matter of fact, a majority of Ghost Legend reviews online, one way or another, compliment its taste.

Partnering with Warheads is definitely a key factor in the remarkable taste of its flavors. They also recently added a Welch’s grape flavor as well.

The Sour Watermelon flavor we took for a spin was sour, obviously, but was still a pleasure to drink. More like tasting a piece of candy as a pre-workout.

Talking about "tastes", we have this Mr. Hyde & Dr. Jekyll review that I think you'd want to have a look at. They both taste delicious and I personally would have it even as a recreational drink.

However, sucralose is the sweetener that makes it taste good without added sugar, which might be an issue for folks don’t like artificial sweeteners.

Ghost Legend Pre-Workout Side Effects

Like with every other pre-workout, you are likely to get a tingly feeling after taking this product. This is the effect of Beta-Alanine and, though harmless, may be unbearable for a few users.

Also, norvaline could do some damage to cells in the body from extended use but isn’t fully proven. What is sure is that it can make some people dizzy, so start off with a half serving to see if you feel anything.

To all vegans and folks allergic to dairy; Ghost Legend contains milk, so you now know better to steer clear of it.

Ghost Legend Price

A tub costs about $45 and contains 30 servings, which puts it at $1.50 per serving. This makes it relatively pricey compared to other pre-workouts.

It doesn’t necessarily edge out its closest competitors, and I only see its remarkable taste as the difference.

At the moment, GNC has a promo going on for the Ghost Legend – buy two (2) get one (1) free.

Ghost Legend Alternatives

Legion Pulse

Legion Pulse, though more expensive, is a good alternative if you are looking for a stronger pre-workout.

At $40 for a tub of 21 servings, it costs a hefty $1.90 per serving. If you look on the bright side though, you’ll be getting two times the energy boost and endurance in Ghost Legend for that price.

It contains clinically effective doses of most, if not all its ingredients.

Cellucor C4

If you feel you don’t need to spend so much on a pre-workout, Cellucor C4 is a good choice. A jar of 30 servings costs in the ballpark of $30, which makes it only $1 per serving.

But it means you’ll give up the luxury of knowing the exact dose of all its ingredients as it is a proprietary blend.

Besides that, you’ll get the basic package that comes in all pre-workouts – energy, focus, pump.

Beyond Raw Lit

Beyond Raw Lit contains a similar dosage of high-quality ingredients like Ghost Legend but comes at a slightly lower price.

It is priced near $36 for a jar of 30 servings, which makes it just $1.20 per serving.

The Lit pre-workout contains a greater amount of caffeine (250mg), and also has creatine if it’s you want that kind of all-in-one experience. However, it has a lower dose of L-citrulline (3g) than Ghost Legend.

I believe that at this point, you're already contemplating on which one is the best PWO supplement for you. Let me give you some more choices to consider. In case you're still not happy with what I've already mentioned here, just check out one of our top articles for it.

Pros and Cons of Ghost Legend

Pros:

  • Great tasting flavors
  • Generous dose of beta-alanine and l-citrulline
  • Good focus
  • Low chances of a crash

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Contains sucralose

Should You Get Ghost Legend?

My verdict from this Ghost Legend pre-workout review is that it’s a good all around pre-workout for those who aren’t complete caffeine junkies.

It contains ingredients that are well known and have been backed by a reasonable amount of research in doses that actually work.

Ghost Legend Pre-Workout Warheads Sour Black Cherry

While some ingredients may border on the low side, they all work hand in hand with the other ingredients to get the job done so you can put forth your best workout.

Not to mention its got flavors that sets it apart from the rest, except that it contains sucralose.

However, the biggest issue to think about is its relatively high price – $1.50 per serving. Even then, we feel it is worth paying a bit more for a product that truly tastes great that you’ll enjoy using.

If you are looking for a great tasting pre-workout for a boost of energy, pump, blood flow, and focus in your workouts, you can’t go wrong with Ghost Legend.
