Pre JYM Review & Benefits:
Pre-Workout Ingredients,
Analysis, Pros & Cons

We all know that getting to the gym or working out after a long day can be a struggle.

I’ve found that the one thing that gets me in the right mindset for a good workout is an effective pre-workout.

The problem is, with so many options on the market, how do you know which is the right one for you?

One thing you want to be sure of, is that your pre-workout is made by someone who knows what they are doing.

That’s where you can count on Pre JYM.

In this Pre JYM review, we’ll get to know more about the product and its benefits.

Manufacturer Information

Pre JYM was created by JYM Supplement Science, a company founded by Doctor Jim Stopanni. They promise that quality research and science go into each of their products to create the safest and the most effective supplements for your body.

The company’s founder, Jim Stopanni, has an impressive number of accolades, including a doctorate in exercise physiology and biochemistry, and has been personal nutritionist to the likes of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The mission statement of this company is to make products you can trust, and in order to do so, they make every ingredient in their products, such as Pre JYM workout supplement, known to their customers.

Pre JYM Overview

What makes Pre JYM different from other pre-workouts is the clarity of its ingredients.

It contains 13 ingredients which complement one another to enhance results.

It helps to build lean muscle, torch body fat, improve strength and boost speed.

Taking it before your workout fuels your energy with the ingredients it needs to perform to maximum potential.

As well as providing energy to your muscles, this product aims to fuel the mind, getting you into the right frame of mind and giving you high energy levels for your workout.

Stopanni prides himself on creating products which are created by science to provide the best effects.

He argues that other products on the market use less of each ingredient, as well as concentrating these ingredients, to cut back on expenses.

Mainstream pre-workout brands like Cellucor might not provide the quality and quantity of ingredients that we see in Pre JYM.

Instead of a temporary energy boost, Pre JYM aims for sustained energy throughout your workout.

Main Features

  • 13 ingredients
  • Open about ingredients to customers
  • Powers muscles and mind
  • No concentrated ingredients
  • Contains caffeine
  • No hidden ingredients
  • Wide range of flavours

Nutrition Profile & Ingredients

As mentioned, one of the greatest strengths of this product is that all the ingredients are divulged on the label. Other products might not disclose this information and instead refer to a ‘proprietary blend’ which often means reduced amounts of important ingredients.

In this section of the review, we will break down those important ingredients and their benefits.

Pre JYM contains a higher amount of citrulline malate than other products which enhances the effects of the supplement for exercise. It also contains 300 grams of caffeine which is over 3 cups and definitely on the upper end of caffeine dosages in a pre-workout supplement.

If you are not a fan of the effects of caffeine this might be a disadvantage. A small quantity of Huperzine-A is a new edition to the supplement and, like caffeine, is designed to enhance mental focus.

Here's the full list of ingredients:

Benefits & Effectiveness

The great thing about knowing exactly what goes into your pre-workout is that you know you’re not getting a reduced amount of anything per serving.

The container clearly shows that each ingredient is added in the optimum quantity so that it works to maximum potential.

For me, nothing feels worse than spending a lot of money on a supplement only to find that it is seriously lacking in the ingredients I need for an effective workout.

With this pre-workout on the other hand, you will experience the benefits of pre-workout supplements with heightened effects. For example, you can expect to feel more energy in the gym, greater endurance and stamina, improved focus, faster recovery and enhanced muscle growth.

BCAAs

The added BCAAs are a bonus in terms of delivering energy to your muscles. They induce protein synthesis meaning your body will experience the effects of the supplement more quickly.

Pre JYM contains the three essential amino acids leucine (3g), isoleucine (1.5g) and valine (1.5g) which allow muscle synthesis.

This enhances muscle recovery and growth.

Caffeine

With a respectable amount of caffeine, you’re sure to be getting a boost.

For those who are worried about over stimulation, the added taurine will help to reduce jitters and keep you focused.

Citrulline Malate

A lot of supplements include a reduced amount of essential ingredients such as Citrulline Malate which is most effective at 6 grams per dose. Pre JYM includes a full 6g and, at optimum level, it will reduce muscle fatigue, help build muscle and increase energy, which are the essential effects of a good supplement.

Other Notable Ingredients

The addition of Huperzine-A is designed to provide clarity and give you an overall improved state of mind whilst working out. Of course, that positivity will keep you going when your body starts to get tired.

There are some skeptical opinions about the effectiveness of beta alanine in pre-workout supps but it has a range of benefits if a decent amount is included, as it is here as well as other top options like Legion Pulse.

It is a stable pre-workout ingredient that improves athletic performance and exercise capacity. It has also been found to delay the onset of lactic acid preventing muscle soreness from kicking in early in your workout.

Finally, the amino acid cysteine encourages uptake of antioxidants, reducing cell damage during exercise. Beet root extract is also linked to nitric oxide production which boosts endurance so you are able to get in more reps before burning out.

Flavour, Mixability & Consistency

Another strong point for Pre JYM is that it comes in a variety of flavours. These include black cherry, refreshing melon, strawberry kiwi, pineapple strawberry, rainbow sherbet, cherry limeade, orange mango and raspberry lemonade.

Some have found the flavours to be too sweet but they can be diluted by adding more water. One of the sweetest options is cherry limeade for those with a sweet tooth. The sweetness also comes from the artificial sweeteners, such as sucralose, so if you don’t like artificial additives this might be a downside.

The best flavour amongst customers is the refreshing mango, which cuts the sweetness.

BCAAs also tend to make supplements sourer, so the high sweetness is probably working to cover the taste of bitterness.

As for consistency, one serving of 26 grams of the powder mixes well with 14 ounces of water but some customers have found that to reduce the sweetness you can add 22 ounces of water.

It produces a smooth drink instead of being grainy of lumpy like some other products and comes in a 20-serving or 30-serving container.

Pre JYM Side Effects

There are warnings against possible side effects which you should watch out for when using any supplement. These include nausea and stomach pain, headaches, jitters or shaking and raised heartbeat.

Many of the side effects can be explained by the higher amount of caffeine in this product. If you drank three cups of coffee in a row you might feel a little jittery. As mentioned, taurine is added to counter the adverse effects of caffeine but if are sensitive to caffeine take care.

There are also side effects associated with Huperzine-A such as stomach upset, blurred vision, restlessness, loss of appetite, and higher blood pressure.

Price

You can find this product on Amazon, BodyBuilding.com, and GNC. Each site offers either 20 serving or 30 serving containers at slightly different prices.

You can pick up 20 servings options for $1.90 per serving, and 30 servings at around $1.75 per serving for some savings. They also have 5 flavour choices including black cherry, pineapple strawberry, rainbow sherbet, refreshing melon and strawberry kiwi.

Although it is quite an expensive option as far as supplements go, this Pre JYM review justifies the price tag by using high quality ingredients at optimum quantities.

If you want high quality supplements, you have to pay a little more.

Alternative Options

For those who are looking for a cheaper option or aren’t entirely convinced by Pre JYM, here is a list of three alternatives which you might want to consider for comparison.

Cellucor C4

This well-known brand provides a high-quality alternative at the cheaper price of about $1 per serving. Being so well known, you can find Cellucor C4 in most health and fitness stores and retailers.

At only 150mg, it also has a much lower caffeine quantity for anyone who is sensitive to stimulants like caffeine. Another difference is that it contains Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate (AAKG) which aids your liver to process nutrients and stimulates protein synthesis.

With more nutrients fueling your muscles, you won’t feel as sore after a workout.

Prolific by PEScience

For $1.50 per serving, Prolific is a higher quality option than Cellucor but still cheaper than Pre JYM. This company, like JYM Supplement Science, creates safe supplements backed by science.

One of their strong points is their great tasting flavours which are praised by customers. Prolific contains more caffeine than Pre JYM, at 320mg, which is great if you are looking for a caffeine boost but a big disadvantage if you are sensitive to stimulants.

Pre-Kaged

For those looking for a more natural option, Pre-Kaged is a top seller which has no artificial flavours or sweeteners. At $35-40 USD for a 20-serving container, it is a similar price to Pre JYM and also made with high quality ingredients.

Another bonus is the added hydration provided by 500 mg of coconut powder which can improve your endurance. If you find yourself going through a lot of water at the gym, this could be a good option to keep your hydration and energy levels high throughout your workout. Get the full scoop on Pre Kaged here.

Should You Get Pre JYM?

This Pre JYM pre-workout review addresses the problem of transparency in supplements.

Instead of simply referring to a ‘proprietary blend’, this product lists all 13 ingredients included and each is added to give you optimal results.

Although it is one of the more expensive options on the market, this transparency means that you know you are getting the right amount of each ingredient as well as the best ingredients.

Compared to the other options, Pre JYM is a strong competitor for even the most popular pre-workouts.

The manufacturer, Jim Stopanni, has made a name for himself in the field of supplements and continues to hold true to his mission to create transparent products.

Check it out for yourself and see what you make of the many benefits of Pre JYM...
