Transparent Labs have released a pre-series of pre-workouts and each product is designed for a specific purpose. As well as Bulk they have a Lean and Stim-Free pre-workout, so there’s one to suit different tastes and workout physique goals.
They also offer products from a range of other series’ including their protein series and wellness series.
The company strives for 100% transparency on all their products, meaning you know exactly what you are putting into your body.
This is always a benefit in terms of supplements and pre-workouts as, not only do you want to know that the ingredients are healthy, but you want to make sure all those ingredients are included in clinically effective dosages.
In this Transparent Labs Bulk Review, we’ll take a closer look at their science-based ingredients.
Transparent Labs Bulk Pre-Workout Overview
Transparent Labs Bulk Pre-Workout is backed by published scientific research and all the ingredients are included in clinically effective dosages.
What’s more, it contains no artificial sweeteners, colours or flavours.
This product is most effective for bodybuilders or athletes who want to gain muscle mass because of its testosterone support complex.
Because of their 100% transparency you see that this complex is made up of vitamin D3, boron and zinc.
The 19 active ingredients are designed to increase energy and reduce muscle fatigue and soreness so you can work towards the body you want at optimal potential. It is also vegan-friendly and contains fermented vegan BCAAs which is an added bonus and saves you buying a separate BCAA powder.
Finally, it has a lower dosage of stimulants, like caffeine, than other pre-workouts on the market, meaning you will get that pump feeling without over stimulation.
- Reduces soreness and fatigue
- Increases energy despite lower dosage of stimulants
- Science based ingredients at clinically effective dosages
- No artificial colours, sweeteners or flavours
- 4 different flavours
Nutritional Profile & Ingredients
This Pre-series Bulk review gives a full rundown of ingredients so you can see exactly what you’ll be getting before you buy it. Of course, this is made easy by the full transparency of the manufacturers about their ingredients.
Compared to other pre-workouts, which often rely heavily on stimulants like caffeine to provide an energy kick, Bulk Pre-Workout contains 180mg of caffeine which is equivalent to 2 cups of coffee.
It contains BCAAs leucine, isoleucine, and valine at a ratio of 2:1:1, which is the optimum level. This is important for Bulk’s main goal of enhanced muscle growth and reduction of muscle soreness as BCAAs aid protein synthesis.
An interesting addition to the mix is synephrine which has been found to increase metabolic rate. This means you will burn more fat, which will make your muscles stand out.
It also increases energy and motivation through altering cognitive functioning, so you are less likely to feel like giving up on your physique goals.

Benefits & Effectiveness
With such an extensive list of ingredients, you know that Transparent Labs Pre-Series Bulk has nothing to hide. In this review, we will take a look at the key significant ingredients and what they add to the product.
Caffeine Anhydrous (180mg)
As mentioned above, caffeine is a regular stimulant used by most pre-workouts. Caffeine is used in this pre-workout to increase repetitions and prolong your workout before you start to feel muscle fatigue. It is also a stimulant and gives you that instant pump.
Caffeine anhydrous is a concentrated caffeine powder which is designed specifically to aid athletic performance. With 180mg per serving, this is a safer dosage than other pre-workouts that can contain as much as 300mg. But if you're looking for something even lower than that of Transparent Labs Pre-series Bulk, I suggest you check out 4 Gauge.
Beta Alanine (4000mg)
Beta Alanine is a non-essential amino acid which produces carnosine. Pre-Series Bulk has a decent dosage for a pre-workout at 4000mg when other workouts contain as little as 2000mg.
Carnosine is a protein building block which is quickly depleted during exercise. Taking a beta-alanine supplement helps to replenish levels of carnosine, delay fatigue, increase overall strength, improve endurance and build lean muscle mass.
Vitamin D3 (3000 IU)
Vitamin D3 makes up part of the testosterone support in this pre-workout. This fat-soluble vitamin helps your body to absorb calcium for stronger bones.
Unfortunately, this pre-workout doesn’t include a lot of other vitamins. However, vitamin D3 has been found to improve cognition and mood so it is a beneficial vitamin to include.
Taurine is another essential amino acid included in most pre-workout supplements.
It reduces the negative effects of caffeine, such as jitters, as well as working alongside beta-alanine to prevent muscle soreness.
As mentioned above, synephrine is a helpful addition to this pre-workout as it increases metabolic rate. It is commonly referred to as ‘bitter orange’ and effects digestion and circulation, helping you to burn more fat.
Burning fat might not be your ultimate goal if you are bulking but it means that you won’t be burning muscle mass and your muscles will become more defined as fat levels reduce.
Mucuna Pruriens (70mg)
This legume is an interesting addition to the product. Mucuna Pruriens is a natural medicine that has been found to improve physical and psychological well being.
It reduces stress by decreasing cortisol levels and promotes healthy testosterone levels, which in turn will enhance muscle growth along with the testosterone support ingredients.
Flavor, Mixability and Consistency
Transparent Lab Bulk Pre-Workout comes in four different flavours; Blue Raspberry, Green Apple, Strawberry Lemonade, and Sour Grape.
As this product doesn’t contain any artificial sweeteners, the taste hasn’t been a winner for all customers.
Some have found that when mixed well with water, it creates a smooth and refreshing pre-workout whereas others have argued that the taste just isn’t right without some sort of sweetener.
If you are concerned about artificial additives and clean living, this is definitely a plus, but if you’re looking for the usual super sweet pre-workout, Bulk Pre-Workout might not be the option for you.
The powder mixes well when combined with two glasses of water. It might leave some excess foam at the top but this is much better than sediment at the bottom. With a decent amount of water, the mix is pleasant and not grainy.
As with all pre-workouts, you have to be aware of the ingredients and potential side effects.
Transparent Labs clearly state what they put in their products so you can take this into account before you buy any of their pre-workouts.
Possible side effects when taking pre-workout supplements include nausea, stomach pain, tingling, jitteriness and headaches.
However, the potential for these side effects is reduced by the lower dosage of caffeine in Pre-series Bulk compared to other pre-workouts, like Legion Pulse.
The ingredients are clinically tested so make sure you take the correct serving size as this will help you avoid adverse side effects.
Price and Buying Options
Transparent Labs Pre-series Bulk is available exclusively on the Transparent Labs website.
Here you can browse a number of other products including protein powders and weight loss supplements, depending on what you are looking to achieve in your workout.
Pre-Series Bulk comes in a bag instead of a container. You can buy one, two or three bags in the same order, depending on whether you just want to try it or you want to save money by buying more in one go.
Each bag contains 30 servings and one bag is currently at $49 USD which works out to $1.63 USD per serving. If you buy three bags it will cost $119 USD, working out to $1.32 USD per serving, saving you $28 USD compared to buying three bags individually.
You also get all four flavour options on the site.
In this Transparent Labs Pre-Series Bulk Review, we want to give you an idea of the competition. Here we have found some cheaper and comparable options, like the Pre-Kaged which we have included in another article, so you can see what else you can get for your money and make an informed decision about Transparent Labs Bulk Pre-Workout.
For a comparable price of $1.60 USD per serving for a 30 serving container, Pre Jym is another option if you are looking for total transparency in ingredients. Pre Jym is also backed by science and includes essential ingredients at optimum levels.
It contains a higher dosage of caffeine at 300mg so if you are looking for a hefty energy boost to get you going, this is a great option.
However, if you are sensitive to caffeine this might be far too much for you as it is equivalent to 3 cups of coffee. Check out our Pre Jym review for more information.
For anyone who isn’t looking to spend so much on a pre-workout, Cellucor C4 is a popular option. A 30 serving container of C4 works out to just about $1 USD per serving.
This cheaper option contains a ‘Explosive Energy Blend’ which, as with all proprietary blends, means you don’t know exactly how much of each ingredient you are getting.
So, for a cheaper price, you might not be getting the same quality ingredients at clinically effective dosages as you do with Transparent Labs.
C4 also does not include BCAAs so if you want the added benefits of a BCAA powder, you will have to buy one separately.
Slightly cheaper than Transparent Labs Bulk and still containing high quality ingredients, Beyond Raw LIT Pre-Workout makes for an interesting comparison. This pre-workout is currently available for just $1.20 USD per serving for a 30 serving container.
There are no proprietary blends here so you know exactly what you are getting like with Transparent Labs. Beyond Raw LIT Pre-Workout is designed to give you a noticeable energy boost but contains slightly less caffeine than Pre Jym with 250mg.
Unlike Transparent Labs Bulk, this pre-workout does contain artificial sweeteners, like sucralose, which make the taste more pleasing but might be a downside if you don’t like to consume artificial additives. If you are interested in finding out more about Beyond Raw LIT, check out our full review.
